For a stay between nature and culture on the banks of Lake Geneva

An exceptional setting
Take a stroll in the heart of the city of Lausanne and enjoy the many charms that the Pearl of Lake Geneva provides for its visitors.
Nature and culture
Built on three hills, with Lake Geneva at its feet and the Savoy Alps rising from the opposite French lakeshore, Lausanne has all the traits of a holiday resort. There are multiple options for a pleasurable stroll in the city: the old town is largely car-free which makes it even more agreeable to wander and there is spectacular scenic view to be admired from the lakefront. From the waterfront area of Ouchy - accessible by Metro (line M2) - stroll along the quays and experience the gentle lifestyle of the city, which truly merits the name “Pearl of the Lake”.
Get inside the Olympic Park and admire the fountain at the entrance. Take some time to relax and contemplate the stunning views of the Alps and the nearby lake. From there, go to the Olympic museum and enjoy its collection of artefacts tracing the history of the Games. For photography lovers, the Musée de l’Elysée nearby is worth a visit. It houses an impressive fund of more than 100,000 photographs. The Collection of Art Brut - in the Château de Beaulieu - or exhibitions dedicated to design and applied arts at the Mudac also are worth visiting. To appreciate the historical heritage of Lausanne, walk through the old city near the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the largest gothic building in Switzerland. The Cathedral still houses a lookout in its bell tower! The lookout announces the time by yelling the hour from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. 365 days a year.
